Sheikh Bab Ahmed

Mr. Sheikh Bab Ahmed is a senior judge from the Islamic Republic of Mauritania with over two decades of judicial experience. Currently serving as Chargé de mission in the Office of the Minister of Justice, he has held various high-level roles including Public Prosecutor at the Nouakchott State Court, Investigating Judge, and Director General of the Office for the Management of Frozen, Seized, and Confiscated Assets and the Recovery of Criminal Assets.
Mr. Ahmed holds a PhD in Islamic Law and a Judicial Diploma. Known for his integrity and commitment to justice, he has played a central role in combating corruption and terrorism in Mauritania. In 2023, he was elected as a member of the African Union Advisory Board on Corruption for the 2023–2025 term.
